AMON AMARTH Named 'Best Death Metal Act' At France's 'Hard Rock Trophies'

Sweden's AMON AMARTH have posted the following message on their official web site:

"On Sunday May 1st, AMON AMARTH recieved a reward for Best Death Metal Act of 2004 at French Hard Rock magazine's 'Hard Rock Trophies'. We are of course very proud of the award, and we'd like to thank Hard Rock magazine, their readers and especially all our french fans for all the support we've recieved during the years. Thank you very much. Merci beaucoup!"

In other news, AMON AMARTH will be teaming up with labelmates CATARACT and IMPIOUS for a short summer tour inbetween their headlining appearances at Party.San Open Air and Summer Breeze festivals. Confirmed tour dates are as follows:

Aug. 13 – Karlsruhe, GER - Substage
Aug. 14 – Weert, NETH - Bosuil
Aug. 15 – Vosselaar, BEL – Biebob
Aug. 16 – Köln, GER – Live Music Hall
Aug. 17 – Hamburg, GER - Markthalle

The show in Köln (Cologne) will be filmed for a DVD, to be released by the end of the year. More details about the filming and the special events surrounding this particular gig will be announced soon.
